Student Success Statement  "A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."- Thomas Carlyle  I agree with this statement because it makes sense. Having a goal in life kind of pushes and inspires us to actually do it. So someone without a goal you can say has no direction or is stuck on what to do. If we don't have a goal in life it makes us lost and confused on what we want in our future. Although if we do have a goal set for  us it leads us to do good. 

Trauma Nurse Duties and Responsibilities: A Trauma Nurse is a nurse who mainly helps patients who have gone through life threatening events. They have to know how to think fast for a solution in case of anything. Although not everyone can become a Trauma Nurse because it's very stressful and bad experiences. Education Requirements: 

My Student Success Statement  "Do what you'd like, no matter your gender."- Guadalupe Garcia I feel like now in days society thinks you can't do a certain thing because of your gender. There are many examples of sexism in our everyday lives. For example, people thinking us woman are weak and can't do the same jobs as men. And men also go through difficulties like this.For example they can't like a certain color or sports, hobbies because people think wrong about them. 

Memorial Day        Memorial day is a day we honor all the people who served for our country. The ones who gave up their lives to serve for our country. Memorial day is always on the last monday of may and which this year it takes place on the 28th of may. Memorial day was originally called decoration day and took place on the 30th of May no matter what day of the week it was. People often visit cemeteries or go on vacation which sometimes causes there to be traffic or veryyy busy airports. There are many little towns who claim they made up memorial day but it really came from Waterloo, New York. In 1971 Memorial Day was declared a holiday.

Student Success Statement  "If there is beauty in character , there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.  Conclusion: If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world." I believe that this statement is true. I believe having a good attitude, personality, character automatically makes you a good and beautiful person. Although not many people think like this.

Sports Medicine Duties and Responsibilities: Sports Medicine Physicians are specialists who help patients who have been injured during sporting events, athletic training, and physical activities. They diagnose, help treat the injury, and also prevent it from ever happening.  Education Requirements: To become a Sports Medicine Physician you need to earn a Bachelor's Degree and a M.D. Degree. Also during undergraduate years you must take biology, anatomy and chemistry.  Salary: $185,007 Yearly  Reflection: I don't think i'd like to be a sports medicine physician because it doesn't interest me. 

Student Success Statement "When a deep injury is done to us, we never recover until we forgive."-Alan Paton I think i agree and partly disagree with this statement. I do believe that we should forgive people for what they've done to us but to a certain limit. For example like the video shown today in class, i don't think i would've forgave someone for killing my daughter. Even if it wasn't intentionally, they still did it. Although I also think surely it's important to forgive someone so you can heal emotionally and possibly physically. Sometimes we make several mistakes and hurt people even if it's not physical it can also be emotionally. 

Speech Pathologist Duties and Responsibilities: A Speech Pathologist is a specialist who focuses on diagnosing, treating, and help to prevent communication or swallowing disorders. This is caused by strokes, brain injury, development delay or autism.   Education Requirements: The requirements for becoming a Speech Pathologist depending on what state you're going to work in. But usually they all require a Master's Degree and getting licensed.  Salary:  $76,610 Yearly               $36.83 Hourly Reflection: I think this is the right career for me. 

Student Success Statement Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There's less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict. Telling the truth protects innocent people from being blamed or punished.  Telling the truth allows everyone to learn from what happened.  You usually get into less trouble for telling the truth other than for lying (and getting caught) Other people trust you more when you tell the truth. You don't have to tell ( and remember) more liess to keep your story straight. You gain a reputation for being truthful- a trait most people value. Telling the truth helps you feel secure and peaceful inside.  Reflection I think all these 8 reasons to tell the truth are really mind changing. People who lie don't really think too much of it so i think these are good for anybody. 

Social Worker Duties and Responsibilities: Being a Social Worker you help people or families in any issues they might be going through and can't help themselves. They also need to be up to date with paperwork and keep everything organized. Some social worker's usually work 9 to 5 but some usually offer emergency services.  Education Requirements: To become a Social Worker you must have either a Bachelor's or Master's Degree. Then after get licensed so you can find a job right away! Salary: $22.07 Hourly              $45,900 Yearly Reflection: I think i would enjoy this career for me because i do like helping people in need.  D

Student Success Statement "Dare to stand alone. Stand up for what is right, even if you stand alone"- Thomas S Monson I think i agree with this statement. I say this because many people tend to be followers for everything. Even though in some situations it's the wrong way to go people still tend to be followers than stand on their own. 

Respiratory Therapist Duties and Responsibilities: A Respiratory Therapist is a specialist who helps victims with    cardiopulmonary   diseases which can make someone have a hard time breathing. They run many tests on patients to see what is wrong with them and what they can do to help them. Education Requirements: To become one you ultimately just need an Associates Degree but people who are looking to hire prefer applicants with a Bachelor's Degree. And of course after you must earn your license.  Salary: $27.78 hourly                $57,790 yearly 

Student Success Statement "If i've got correct goals, and if i keep pursuing them the best way i know how, everything else falls into line. If i do the right thing right, I'm going to succeed. - Dan Dierdorf  I think I agree with this statement because it is very encouraging. It's kind of an inspiration on how you should be thinking everyday. I believe that if you have goals set for yourself and your future keeping a good mindset and staying positive will help you pursue your goals. Just like Dan said if you do the right thing right you will succeed. Good things come to good people. 

Reflexology Duties and Responsibilities: Reflexology is a type of treatment based on massages. It's an Alternative for medicine. What they do is work on the patients' body to remove tension or stress. They usually work on  feet, hands, and ears to help their circulation as well. They also give advice to each patient depending on their health Education Requirements: To become a Reflexologist there isn't much to it. You can either join a college for an Associate's Degree in reflexology and join a program to continue your education or just join a program to learn about Reflexology.  Salary: $39,860 yearly   Reflection: I don't think I'd like to be one because feet gross me out. 

Student Success Statement "The most important thing you will ever have is good values." - Dennis Prager I think i agree and disagree on this statement because the video did make some sense but i feel like there's stuff on what i can disagree. I don't think you should put values over your happiness.  Sometimes it's important to put yourself first over anyone. And i feel like this generation needs help on that because some don't even be caring about their own well being because they're too busy worrying about others. 

Registered Nurse Duties and Responsibilities: A Registered Nurse has many duties having to do with the patient and their health. They record the patient's recent health problems or behavior, Talk to them about their treatment, and help them in anything they might need.  Education Requirements: To become a RN you must graduate college with a Bachelor's Degree, Then after complete a nursing course to further on your learning. Salary:  $32.50 hourly $67,490 yearly 

Student Success Statement Phillip Riggs Work hard Follow your passions. Do things you are interested in doing Don't chase after money Serve others. Do good things for others, and good things will come to you. I think these four tips are very helpful in any situation you might be in. I agree with the fact "don't chase after money." It's important for you  to choose a career you are truly passionate about and not just because of the money. There are many people who just do things in life for the money and be treating people like crap. That's why i think it's important to do right in any situation. 

Teen Challenges There are a lot of issues that teens deal with because we are all different and have/ face different challenges. But the main ones is depression, bullying, drug use, insecurities, academic problems, and sexual activity.  I think for me academic issues and not depression but mood swings are one of my top 2 issues right now. I deal with them by getting help in all my classes to improve my grades, and with my mood swings i kind of just relax or take a nap.  I feel like by always being a ctr person it would benefit you in many ways, but choosing the right will always bring you positive vibes and things with any challenge you are facing.  I can help teens by maybe telling them to get help with a counselor or therapist or even talk to them personally and make them feel better about themselves.  The greatest need teens need today is all the love and support they can get.
