CTR Reflection

CTR Story Reflection      This CTR story was about a special needs high schooler, Chy Johnson she was getting bullied by a couple of kids she attends school with. She's been bullied her whole life, but her mom finally decided to put a stop to it. She emailed a family member of there's which also attended chy's school and a football player. Him and his friends decided to hangout with Chy and defend her. I thought what he did was very thoughtful. He didn't have to do that, he chose to do it. Which i think was very nice of him. That's why it's important to choose the right because you end up helping people in need and at the end of it feel very good about yourself.

Student Success Statement " Being a c-t-r person isn't always easy, but it's the best person you can be."- Diana Beltran I agree with this statement. I believe it's true because sometimes the decisions we make are hard on whether to choose the right decision or not. Not only in school do we make decisions but also in our normal everyday lives. As Diana said it's never easy to choose the right. For example, being around your friends and they're doing drugs and ask you to join you need to think deeply on what your decision might be.

Student Success Statement  "In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing." - Theodore Roosevelt  What this statement means in my own words is that if you have to make a decision make sure it's the right thing to do. It's more beneficial to choose the right in any situation rather than doing and choosing the wrong. An example of this would probably be any decision you have to make. For example as students there is a lot of decision making through our lives.

Student Success Statement "Nothing is ever gained in doing what's wrong." - Wilford Woodruff  I strongly agree with this statement. The video of the girl in court really reflected on how much the statement is true. She started off doing wrong by using drugs and ended up in court. That proves that you get nothing beneficial from doing the wrong. And on top of that she flipped off the judge which gave her days in jail. After on her next court date she looked like she completely changed. I believe because her negative actions didn't lead her to greatness.

Student Success Statement / Reflection  "It's a great moment when someone has the character to step up and do the right thing at the right time."          The statement for our class today reflects on a video we were shown about a softball game. Sarah Tucholsky was a softball player from Western Oregon and has never hit a home run till this game thanks to the two players from the other team; Mallory Holtman and Liz Wallace. When Sarah batted she hit her first home run but as she was running to first and second place she hurt her leg which caused her to fall down and not being able to run anymore. The rules say that nobody from Sarah's group may help her or else it won't count. So the girls Mallory and Liz decide to carry Sarah all the way to home base and Western Oregon won. This was exactly what the SSS was today. They chose to do the right thing and help out.

Student Success Statement  "I have been asked what i mean by 'word of honor.' I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground-there is a possibility that in some way or another i might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor to never cross it. Can i get out of that circle? No, never I'd die first." - Karl G. Maeser I strongly agree with this statement because i believe in always keeping your word. I feel like this statement can also relate to the last statement; the 10 indian commandments. I remember there being one about always keeping your word. It's important to because it defines you as a person.

Student Success Statement  "A promise must never be broken." - Alexander Hamilton  I believe in this statement. Promises are really a big thing in my opinion because the person you're keeping a promise to is really trusting you and believe that you're actually going to accomplish it. Some people just say the word "promise" to get what they want. I have had many of friends throughout my short life who break their promises to me. For example when they swear to you they won't tell nobody your personal things but go ahead and tell everyone. Something as small as that really can define how a person really is. I would never be capable of spilling someone's secret because i know how it feels.

Student Success Statement  "Goodness is the only investment that never fails" - Henry David Thoreau  I think this statement is true because doing good never fails. What i mean is that doing good will always lead you to happiness because you're doing something beneficial to you and possibly our world. There are plenty of bad guys in our world today and it is nice to know that there is still some people with good intentions. I myself try to be the nicest i can and also try to help people out. There are plenty of real life examples in doing good.

Student Success Statement  "My basic Principle is that you don't make decisions because they are easy; you don't make them because they're cheap; you don't make them because they're popular; you make them because they're right. " - Theodore Hesburgh  I think this statement is very agreeable. Making right decisions is very important to your everyday life. You shouldn't be making bad decisions because it'll benefit you. Do it because you want to do the right thing.

My Spring Break

Image
My Spring Break  My spring break was pretty boring, but fun at the same time. I say this because i would go out to places but also just chill at home. One place I went to was the movies with my mom, we watched Unsane which was a very great movie 10/10 recommend. Then me and my family would just go out to eat and shopping. During the break I met many times with my niece, which I enjoyed cause i rarely get to see her and she's growing up so fast.  Then finally for easter I spent the day with my mom's family playing board games, watching movies and just enjoying our time together.
